Explore Amsterdam’s Art and Architecture
Delve into the Golden Age and its
extraordinary art, architecture and history,
traversing the city's inner labyrinth of
canals and narrow streets, along which
hundreds of sturdy Dutch bicycles rattle
day and night. Dive Into Culture and enjoy
a Small Group Sightseeing tour of the
Rijksmuseum, featuring the works of great
Dutch masters, including Rembrandt's 'The

A Day at Floriade 2022
Take a day trip to Floriade Expo 2022,
where you'll learn all about the future of
‘Green Cities' and explore what
a green city of the future could look like.
On this incredible visit to Almere, itself a
new Dutch city built on land that was
reclaimed from the sea, you'll Dive Into
Culture and discover what it would be like
to live in a city which is built with
environmental sustainability at its core.
Tour the location's three districts, each with
their own theme – Food, Energy and
Health – as you explore this tranquil
setting and lose yourself amidst all that
greenery. You'll enjoy a multitude of live
entertainment and visit the Green Island,
returning home with great insights into
what a custom-made green city of the
future could look like.

DAY 4 : 04 May 2022
Onwards to Delft and Oosterbeek
We rise with the birds this morning, taking
a trip to Aalsmeer to visit the vibrant
flower auction and see the vividly hued
blooms for which Holland is so famous.
Alternatively, during the flowering season
(end of March until mid-May), we'll enjoy
an included visit to the tulip fields of
Keukenhof – the mesmerising sight of
several million flowering bulbs planted
across 32 hectares will leave you in
absolute awe. We continue through The
Hague to the historic town of Delft and
Dive Into Culture at the Royal Delft Pottery
workshop where we'll gain insights into the
manufacturing of this delicate hand-painted
blue and white porcelain. Then it's on to
Oosterbeek where we'll stay the night.

DAY 5 : 05 May 2022
Off to Stunning Zwolle and Groningen
Our first stop this morning is to see John
Frost Bridge, so named to pay tribute to
the commander of the British forces that
held the bridge for four days with a mere
750 soldiers, during the World War II
Battle of Arnhem. There's more World War
II history to follow at the Airborne Museum
to learn about the Battle of Arnhem.
Leaving Oosterbeek behind, we head
north to the beautiful Hanseatic city of
Zwolle, where we'll join our Local
Specialist for a walking tour through its
medieval centre before making our way to
way to Groningen. With its rich history and
peculiar dialect, the city will be a highlight
for culture and history buffs.
DAY 6 : 06 May 2022
Venture to Volendam and Return to Amsterdam
Dive Into Culture and saddle up to
explore the university city of Groningen
during a guided bicycle tour of its
medieval centre. Ramble along the city's
ring of canals like a local, before enjoying
a stunning drive through the mesmerising
Frisian Lake District en route to Volendam,
a former fishing port on the edge of
IJsselmeer. Dive Into Culture and learn
about the craft of wooden clog making
and Dutch cheese, followed by a
celebratory Be My Guest Dinner
with the Pauw family as you Connect With
Locals over a traditional Dutch meal.

Canal boat tour in Amsterdam & Dutch cheese tasting
In the morning, enjoy a cruise along the famous Amsterdam canals, followed by a trip to the beautiful Waterland region with historic fishing villages and peaceful countryside.
Or choose to explore the art, history and culture of the Dutch on a tour of Haarlem. Visit the Cathedral of St. Bavo and enjoy the medieval atmosphere of the town’s cobbled streets and gabled houses. Rejoin your ship in Utrecht for lunch.

Visit to famous Cologne Cathedral
In the morning, discover the highlights of Cologne on the guided city tour. End with a glass of typical Kölsch, a famed Rhineland beer. After lunch, chocolate lovers will be able to visit the Cologne Chocolate Museum and find out more about the fascinating 500-year history of this melt-in-your-mouth cocoa treat.
Alternatively, nature enthusiasts may prefer the excursion to the Siebengebirge National Park, Germany’s first nature reserve, and Drachenfels castle ruins. With the Rhine sprawling below in all its splendor, the views from the top of the castle ruins are stunning. After an exciting day, return to the vessel to continue south along the river.

Passage of Lorelei at sunrise
The morning starts on a high note with the passage of the Lorelei in the myth-enshrouded Upper Middle Rhine Valley. At lunchtime, the vessel arrives in Rüdesheim, a picturesque wine-making town in the Rhine Gorge where the river landscape has enchanted visitors for centuries, and is protected by UNESCO since 2002.
Discover the region’s rich history on a walking tour and admire the magical collection of instruments at the Music Cabinet Museum. Or take, instead, a tram ride through the vineyards of Rüdesheim on the “Wine Express”, enjoy some fine wine and stroll along the quaint “Drosselgasse”.

MILTENBERG > WERTHEIM
Romantic half-timbered houses
After a tranquil morning on board, join the afternoon excursion to Miltenberg and Wertheim. Miltenberg is a town flanked by the river Main with an incredible, forested hillside, and features Miltenberg Castle and one of the oldest inns in Germany, the Hotel “Zum Riesen”.
Continue to Wertheim and explore the medieval streets with their half-timbered houses and the unique glass museum. This evening, enjoy another memorable meal as the AMADEUS ship plies the waters toward our next stop.

Würzburg Residence & wine tasting
Today, visit Würzburg, a city in Bavaria known for lavish architecture, located in the center of the Franconian wine country. In the morning, experience the many beautiful sights of the town as well as the Baroque Residenz palace. The tour concludes with wine tasting in the ancient wine cellar of a local vineyard.
As an alternate excursion, join the trip to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, whose towers, city gates, walls, and half-timbered gables have remained unchanged since the Thirty Years’ War. Unwind and relax on board this afternoon and let our Chefs delight you with their culinary magic at the Captain’s Gala Dinner.

Historic old town
Spend the morning cruising the scenic Main river. After lunch, arrive in the imperial city of Bamberg, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site which retains its medieval layout of three settlement areas, along with its historic buildings and Baroque facades.
Bamberg is ranked as one of Germany’s most attractive towns and known for its deliciously smoky beer. This German town is also the place to begin your crossing of the Rhine-Main-Danube canal. This evening, join a presentation about the Main-Danube canal, which allows free flow of traffic between the North Sea and the Black Sea.
